** Orioles run past Green Wave -- MSD's Bonheyo sets school rushing
record **
Host Maryland
School for the Deaf dominated both lines of scrimmage Friday night,
en route to a 46-0 victory over Spingarn High School of Washington,
D.C.
Sophomore free
safety Todd Bonheyo picked off a Green Wave pass on the second play
from scrimmage, his first of two interceptions. From there, the
Orioles were on their way to their 33rd straight victory. MSD
tailback Ryan Bonheyo surpassed the school's career rushing record,
gaining more than 125 yards on the ground, surpassing the old mark
of 3,332 held by Scott Lehman. Bonheyo broke the record in the
second quarter of the game and was rewarded with the game ball from
Lehman.
Head coach Andy
Bonheyo, father of Todd and Ryan, was pleased with Ryan's
accomplishments." As a father I'm really proud of my son, he worked
hard and he earned it," Andy Bonheyo said. Andy Bonheyo was quick to
point out the impact of his offensive line and how much he and his
son credit them for their success. Ethan Kramer and Joshua Withrow
each added a touchdown on the ground to go with Bonheyo's two
scores. The Orioles' defense was lead by senior linebacker Clayton
Grossinger, who had a sack and a fumble recovery.

24. Lexington 1 Heschel 1 - This was a hard fought match. Our
first game of the season as it was kind of rocky start for us. Angel
Ortiz scored first goal at the 6th minute. Heschel scored their goal
at 30th minute. We were scoreless in 2nd half. Our defense played
their hearts out! Adam Pagan made 20 saves for the Blue Jays. We
were glad we ended in a tie as they defeated us last season in our
final game at the PSAA league Championship. 2008 Record: 0 Wins 0
Losses 1 Tie (PSAA 0-0-1) Frank Wells, Head Coach
NYSSD
2 - Holy Cross 3. The Trojans were down 3-0 early in the
second half when Jeremy Lloyd and Pat Riolo teamed up for two goals
to turn it into a very interesting game. Jeremy scored both goals
off of two neat passes from Pat. Irick Carter was solid in goal
with 13 saves including three outstanding saves in the last minutes
of the game. The Trojans had three shots on goal in the last few
minutes of the game - so close, but no net! Great game! Lots of
fun and a good way to start the new NCAC season.
